Our very youngest children learn about the world around them by experimenting and trying new ways of doing things. The bonds our babies form with warm, nurturing caregivers combined with a stimulating environment of this classroom create a strong foundation for learning.
At The Giggling Tree Academy, our infant curriculum, is designed to ensure that even our youngest learners are developing and meeting significant milestones in these five areas:
We continually encourage the young mind to be curious, creative and confident. We support their endless need to discover through experiences, and exploration we offer four distinct classroom areas:
We are devoted to offering a secure environment as we care for our youngest crew!
Safe sleep: All babies up to 1 year are placed in a crib on their back to sleep. Cribs are free from bedding, blankets, and stuffed animals (crib only contains a mattress with a tight-fitting sheet). We utilize sleep sacks for warmth and encourage the use of pacifiers.
- Cognitive Development: Infants start to develop an attention span and start to engage and interact with others.
- Language Development: Infants develop the ability to communicate their needs and wants verbally.
- Physical Development and Health: Infants develop skills from tummy time to crawling and walking.
- Social-Emotional Development: Infants experiment with different ways to get their needs met.
- Approaches to Learning: Infants explore the world around them getting used to new and exciting things in their environments.

- Crib checks: When children are napping, our caregivers maintain visual contact and active listening, while checking on them at regular intervals.
- Best ratios: We keep our ratio lower than state requirements to ensure that each child is given the attention and continuity in their care. Each Infant has a primary caregiver that provides specific attention, while the entire infant team works together to provide constant and quality supervision and care.
- Health and cleanliness: We have a detailed and rigorous schedule for cleaning and disinfecting (with safe cleaning products). Staff wear dedicated shoes (or shoe covers) in this classroom to keep the environment as germ free as possible.
